Healthy and maintained teeth are the best prerequisite for general well-being, vitality and self-confidence. Therefore the correct dental hygiene and regular prophylaxis are very important. In our practice, part of the dental prophylaxis is to discuss all your questions and wishes, as well as receiving an individual consultation concept.

A toothbrush with a short head is recommended so that the tooth surfaces, which are often difficult to reach, can also be cleaned. Furthermore one should use a toothbrush with rounded bristles in order to avoid irritating the gums. Naturally a toothbrush should not be used for more than two to three months.
Only this way, none of the surfaces are left out and therefore all plaque can be removed. Start out with the inner surface of the last backtooth and proceed until you reach the opposite backtooth. Then switch to the outer surface and finally brush the chewing surface. Repeat the same procedure on the other half of the jaw. We advise to brush the teeth in the smallest circular motion, with the least amount of pressure possible, working from the gums to the chewing surface, in order to prevent damage to the teeth or gums.
During the dental prophylaxis, a dental prophylaxis assistant will discuss which type of floss is most suitable for you and practice this procedure with you.
Hygiene of the TongueThe tongue has a large surface area on which many germs can gather, which then could also lead to bad breath. In this case, a special tongue brush can be used just like a normal toothbrush would be used after meals.
The choice of toothpaste is also part of your consultation in our practice. Nowadays, toothpastes can also provide the teeth with fluoride for example and therefore are an effective protection against caries.
